Our Committees
As the Breast Cancer Network of WNY continues to move forward with our vision to be the leading breast cancer organization in Western New York for community, education, and support, one thing is increasingly clear: We need your help. That help can come in a variety of ways including you sharing your time and talents
BCN has embarked upon a voyage of growth and we have created several committees to help us get there. Please take a look at our committee descriptions and consider how you might become involved with our mission and work. For more information or to be contacted for a committee, simply fill out the following form.
-
Help us review our current programming and determine what additional programming could be developed to support our mission and those in WNY who have been impacted by breast cancer. Meets every other month on Zoom.
-
Join us in our ongoing effort to get the word out about BCN and our programs and events. The Marketing Committee meets monthly on Zoom. Areas of focus are social media, growing the BCN contacts network, and increasing community awareness of BCN.
-
We are always looking for ways to raise money to fund our programs and to support our annual donation to metastatic breast cancer research. This committee deals with establishing donor and sponsor relationships, conducting fundraisers, and an annual appeal campaign. It meets every other month on Zoom.
-
Help us by being the ear in your community. If you hear of a neighbor or friend who has been diagnosed, connect BCN with them. You can also help by circulating BCN literature and flyers in your neighborhood libraries, community centers, coffee shops or anywhere people look for information. Meets monthly on Zoom.
-
Get involved with our events such as Day of Renewal, Murder at the Mansion, Annual Golf Tournament, and more. We are always looking for willing hands to help create, organize and present our fundraisers and educational events.
-
BCN plans to be much more involved and active in advocacy and public policy and we need help in achieving that. It might mean identifying legislative issues related to breast cancer or with local politicians, attending an advocacy conference or webinars. There are a number of things we want to do to help drive public policy and awareness and this new committee will be the driving force to that goal. Meets every other month on Zoom.
